Second Chance is an innovative and exciting educational film based project providing creative opportunities for young people across Hertfordshire.
Our aim is that by 2011 a feature length film, entitled Second Chance will be made. What makes this unique is the fact that students will have various opportunities to work alongside industry professionals in order to gain a working understanding of the film making process. This will enable students to become independent and enterprising individuals within in a work related environment.
The project will create an educational resource pack which will include the feature film, the short film made in the pilot year, a series of documentaries produced by students, and teaching materials in order to showcase our work and to guide other institutions in developing their own film based work.
This is the cutting edge of education, in line with Government initiatives, providing high quality work related experiences. Young people are no longer interacting with an outdated model of education in which they sit and listen; for the youth of the 21st Century education is about realistic opportunity, exploring, experiencing, and engaging.
